In other words – keep your eyes and ears open and make connections with the right people and observe what is happening around you and beyond. King Solomon in the Bible, often referred to as the wisest man that ever lived – and also the richest, said simply “.…..open your eyes, and you shall be satisfied with bread. – Proverbs 20:13
Here is some advice that you hear frequently:
1. Has the company been in business at least 5 years?
2. Is the company well financially?
3. Does the company offer products or services that are unique?
4. Is there a genuine need for the product or service?
5. Is the product or service a fad or is it trendy?
6. Can you generate income fairly quickly?
7. Does the marketing system take full advantage of technology and the Internet?
8. Is the person who is introducing you to the opportunity committed to YOUR success?
9. Is there a great program for training both for personal development and the business?
10. Can you build your business part-time while you work full time at your job?
11. Will you have FUN?
This is great advice and worth paying attention to. However, there is possibly one other huge element that needs attention – Your Competency level to be able to do this business. A lot of people that enter the NMW arena has little or no business experience, little or no sales experience and typically no Network Marketing experience and possibly lacking in other areas as well.
In conventional business 46% fail due to incompetency, 30% due to unbalanced experience and 11% for lack of experience in the products or service. Some of the leading management Mistakes:
Going into the business for the wrong reason
Advice from family and friends
Underestimate the the time requirements
Family pressure on time and money commitments
Pride
Lack of clear focus
In Network Marketing, the failure is very similar. But the numbers are higher because the entry level financially is so low. Also because more people think they can do this without the required skills and mindset. Big Mistake! However, don’t lose heart, these skills can be acquired and is necessary for a successful career in Network Marketing. You can learn as you earn. Any great NWM company and the field leadership has or will develop a training program that will assist the IBOs (Independent Business Owners) to become successful to the degree that they learn the business, develop their skills and apply themselves. There is no success without effort.

1. Those who make things happen! (The calculated risk takers)
2. Those who watch other people make things happen! (They wait until it is “safe”, if then)
3. Those who wonder what happened! (Haven’t got a clue)
